Internal watchdog reports have revealed that the Department of Justice has had more than 650 ethics violations in recent years, and they’re refusing to give up the names of the people responsible.
According to a review of internal documents and reports from the DOJ’s Office of Professional Responsibility, there have been more than 650 examples of its lawyers violating the ethics codes that were documented and compiled by the Project on Government Oversight.
The review found over 400 cases of recklessness or intentional misconduct and investigated roughly 2,100 alleged abuses through 2013 from 2002, according to the OPR’s own standards. It also found that in most of these cases the misconduct went beyond errors or poor judgment.
