IRS Confesses They Never Targeted ‘Progressive Groups’

IRS agents have been testifying before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in regards to allegedly targeting conservative groups for political reasons in the now infamous IRS Scandal of 2013. The Republican staff report from the committee was released Monday, and found that there was no evidence indicating progressive groups were politically targeted by the IRS. Representative Darrell Issa, the House Oversight Committee Chairman, prepared the report. The report stated, “Tea Party groups received unprecedented review and experienced years-long delays. While some liberal oriented groups were singled out for scrutiny, evidence shows it was due to non-political reasons.” These findings contradict previous statements made by Democrats who claimed progressive groups received the same scrutiny as conservative groups when being investigated by the IRS.
