With the unbelievable but expected ruling of the Supreme Court, many people began to act as if the war was over. To many, there seemed to be nothing left to do. People are taking the necessary action to protect themselves from being forced to comply. Churches and even states are now talking about getting out of the marriage business altogether. But there seems to be a different tact being taken in Texas. MSNBC reports Texas was quick to set in motion actions meant to undermine the ruling. Read more […]
It’s stunning how fast things can change in the La-La Land that passes for liberal logic. Within a day of the Supreme Court’s ruling creating a constitutional right to homosexual “marriage,” the same sort of people who see burning the U.S. flag as free speech were suddenly gung-ho for America and accusing dissenters from the court’s majority opinion of committing treason. Jay Michaelson at the Daily Beast is of the opinion that part of a Supreme Court justice’s job is to quell controversy. Dipping Read more […]
Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee suggested Sunday that Christians opposed to the Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of gay marriage will carry out civil disobedience in response to it — and that, if elected president, he might put up a nativity on the White House lawn. “I don’t think a lot of pastors and Christian schools are going to have a choice,” the a former governor of Arkansas and Baptist minister said on ABC’s “This Week.” “They either are going to follow God, their conscience, Read more […]
It did. Now what? Friday, my Facebook feed was wall-to-wall rainbows; profile pictures, cover photos, status updates, all celebrating the SCOTUS victory for gay marriage. I saw the phrases “love is love,” and “love wins,” dozens of times. And in those phrases really lies the argument for moving beyond gay marriage. People think you’re crazy if you come to the conclusion that allowing gay marriage opens the door for other types of marriage. They scoff and tell you it’s apples and oranges. Read more […]
If you’re following any of the various media outlets this morning, you’re probably aware that the U.S. Supreme Court has just extended gay marriage to all 50 states. The Supreme Court ruled Friday that same-sex couples have a right to marry nationwide, in a historic decision that invalidates gay marriage bans in more than a dozen states. Gay and lesbian couples already can marry in 36 states and the District of Columbia. The court’s ruling on Friday means the remaining 14 states, in the Read more […]
Todd Starnes and Franklin Graham react to Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage.
Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia said the Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of gay marriage shows just how much trouble American democracy is in. In a strongly worded dissent, the conservative justice wrote that he did not care that gay marriage was now legal, but he said that the court’s ability to make this decision represented a threat to democracy. “I write separately to call attention to this Court’s threat to American democracy,” Scalia wrote in the opening paragraph of his dissent. 1. ”Just who do we think we are?” The majority’s decision is an act of will, not legal judgment… The Court invalidates the marriage laws of more than half the States and orders the transformation of a social institution that has formed the basis of human society for millennia, for the Kalahari Bushmen and the Han Chinese, the Carthaginians and the Aztecs. Just who do we think we are? – Chief Justice John Roberts 2. The majority’s reasoning applies with equal force to plural marriage. It Read more […]
During the Sunday airing of Fox New Sunday, host Chris Wallace asked Karl Rove how America can stop violent attacks like the one the country witnessed in Charleston, South Carolina. Rove said “acts of violence” will continue, until someone can force America to “repeal the Second Amendment.” He quickly added his belief that such a repeal is an impossibility, and therefore not a viable idea — yet. Here is Wallace’s exact question: Karl, whether you agree with the president on Read more […]
During a interview on The Real Side radio program, Major General Paul E. Vallely (U.S. Army ret.) had some strong words for Barack Obama and his total failure to do anything to stop ISIS and protect the American people from a clear threat. The General stated that Obama is a radical islamic sympathizer who supports the Muslim Brotherhood who have been working to establishment a worldwide caliphate and the application of sharia law.
I don’t like trans fat. I think it is unhealthy and should be avoided. I am glad that companies have been abandoning it and soon will stop using it. But I’m not deluded enough to think that the Food and Drug Administration is my friend. And I don’t think having a dictator of food safety for over three hundred million people is a path to safety. Yet that is what our media takes for granted. The Politico headline is typical: “It’s official: Obama axes trans fat.” The words sound as Read more […]
President Obama’s Justice Department is set to move forward with over a dozen new gun control regulations it plans to implement without Congressional approval, Breitbart.com reported Sunday, citing an article at The Hill. Some of the regulations are set to be implemented this year, while others are to be implemented by the end of the Obama administration. According to The Hill’s Tim Devaney, “the regulations range from new restrictions on high-powered pistols to gun storage requirements” and Read more […]
