Obama’s DOJ to Bypass Congress with New Gun Control Regulations

President Obama’s Justice Department is set to move forward with over a dozen new gun control regulations it plans to implement without Congressional approval, Breitbart.com reported Sunday, citing an article at The Hill. Some of the regulations are set to be implemented this year, while others are to be implemented by the end of the Obama administration.

According to The Hill’s Tim Devaney, “the regulations range from new restrictions on high-powered pistols to gun storage requirements” and the issuance of “new rules expanding criteria for people who do not quality for gun ownership.” Part of the effort is aimed at keeping guns out of the hands of those deemed mentally unstable and convicted of domestic abuse. But, the gun lobby says, the rules unfairly target a number of people who are not a danger to society.
