Iran Claims New Discovery Will Collapse Christianity

Iran’s Basij Press is claiming that a version of the Gospel of Barnabas, found in 2000, will prove that Islam is the final and righteous religion and the revelation will cause the collapse worldwide of Christianity.

Turkey confiscated a leather-bound text, written on animal hide, in an anti-smuggling operation in 2000. Turkish authorities believe the text could be an authentic version of the Gospel of Barnabas, one of Jesus’ apostles and an associate of the apostle Paul.

This version of the Barnabas Gospel was written in the 5th or 6th century and it predicted the coming of the Prophet Mohammad and the religion of Islam, the Basij Press claims.

The Christian world, it says, denies the existence of such a gospel.

However, religious scholars have said another version of the Barnabas Gospel, discovered a century ago, was written less than 500 years ago, which would post-date Mohammad.

Muslims are Christians – in case you didn’t know…..

    • screwtape says:

False.  Belief that Jesus existed, even that He was a prohet, is not the same as belief in Him as fully God and savior.  Christ claimed divinity.  He could not have been merely a prohpet as that would have made his claims lies or delusions.  He was therefore either liar, lunatic or Lord.  He is my Lord and Savior.

    • Viet Nam Vet says:

what are you drinking look it up brain dead

    • Ted says:

      No they are not.

    • EIvisPresIey says:

Some Muslims do believe in Jesus and a few have taken Jesus into their hearts, but just like Jehovah Witnesses and Mormans some have and some haven’t.

      • Steven says:

If they have accepted Jesus as GOD, they are no longer Muslims.  Such ‘apostasy’ carries a DEATH sentence under Islam.

    • Steven says:

Actually, Islam claims the OPPOSITE.  It teaches that Jesus was a Muslim, CORRUPTED the true faith to create what we know as Christianity.

  2. Samtman says:

    Its all academic.

  3. Dingbat36 says:

Islam has no place anywhere near Christianity or Judaism.  It is a religion “concocted” by a war waging, pedophile which confers all rights upon men while subjugating women.  Does any thinking human being really believe that God (any righteous God ) would discriminate against half of his human creations? Not in any reasoning person’s mind would that ever happen.

    • USMC 69-75 says:

Dingbat………correct me if I’m wrong, but to my understanding, Islam isn’t a religion, Muslim is, Islam is just their belief? Just as I am Christian, and I am of Christian beliefs…..Christian belief, being that I believe in Jesus Christ as my personal savior. That’s just my take, but regardless…..anybody that believe you are awarded 72 virgins for killing yourself for the cause, is a sandwich shy of a picnic! Christianity, Jesus Christ was for” Love thy neighbor”, not Kill him, because he is an infidel?????? What is wrong with this picture?

  4. 2WarAbnVet says:

The basic mistake is to equate Islam with religion. It is an complete ideology based on seventh century barbarism.

  5. Kristmas says:

no writing can deny the power of Jesus when received in the heart from reading his words or prayer.  No matter how much the anti christ s try, and they will try, they will never stop the power of Jesus Christ who will destroy their kingdom, their new world order, global government…

  6. Ted says:

Sorry. This doesn’t work.mEven Jesus said this kind of thing would happen “in the end times.”

  7. sean murry. says:

    They are full of crap.

  8. Airangel says:

Just because a prophecy or scribes say Muhammed and Islam would come does not mean they meant it in any other context other than a warning of trials. I highly doubt they referred to muhammed as a prophet, maybe the false messiah…Iran would claim anything to promote Islam and their cause to murder anyone that does not believe in Islam and the murdering of God’s children. I’m sure if this transcript from Barnabas is real, it was probably a warning of the evil coming to us!

  9. DrSique says:

Apparently, Ackmahdinnajad thinks that Christianity is as fragile as his false religion. If it were not for threats and violence, millions would have already fled Islam. Of course, the fear of being beheaded is one way to keep a congregation. Another might be to treat people with kindness and respect but that is another story…………………and culture.

  10. jong says:

Sorry when ever the muslims try to come with documents they always have a problem with the true age of the document or the origination of it (ie its a fake)   Obama of course has the same problem with his documents.  Of course we know of many “Gospels” that were made up from about 300 AD on wards.  It is my position that these so called “Gospels” make up a great deal of Islam.  And since the base is lie the whole thing is a lie.

  11. tell Iran and their  prophet mohammad and the religion of islam, belongs to them, that we know who our Lord and God are and it is not theirs.

  12. Big Bubba says:

Satan will try everything to take the focus off Jesus Christ! This finding is only one of many false doctrines that have appeared down through the ages.

  13. rswallick says:

the number one cause of death in humans is govt
the number two cause of death in humans is religion

i thing these two issues are hazards to my health

don’t worship the messenger, worship the message, WAKE UP, jesus middle name was not THE and his last name was not CHRIST.  Christ is a level of consciousness that is the right of every human to wake up to

    • EIvisPresIey says:

The new age movement uses the term Christ Consciousness often, but they can seem to use the name Jesus, because of the level of conviction it carries.

      • Benjamin says:

actually this kind of BS goes back much further than the New Age movement; it started with the Transcendalist movement and people like Emerson and Thoreau. The Transcendentalists denied the Holy Trinity and denied the Doctrine of Original Sin; instead, they claim that God exists in the world around us and also within us and that we can intuitively gain knowledge of God.

This, of course, is total heresy. Nowhere in Jesus’ message does he teach any of those things; quite the contrary in fact. If God existed in this world the way the Transcendentalists claim, then Jesus would not have told Pilate that ‘my Kingdom is not of this world.’

The mere fact that believers are empowered by the Holy Spirit does not mean that the Holy Spirit becomes a part of them; it is still a part of God despite residing in us. We certainly cannot ‘intuit God’ in the same way as the Prophets because they aren’t any true prophets walking around in the world today.

That being said, if someone comes up to me and claims that God inspired them in some way, I won’t argue with them; I’ll only argue if they claim that God told them to tell me something.

    • Benjamin says:

      Wrong.

The term ‘Christ’ is not and was never intended to be Jesus’ ‘last name’. Just as ‘Caesar’ was the the title of the Roman Emperors, ‘Christ’ is a title for the Messiah and also basically a synonym. Jesus was also referred to as ‘Jesus of Nazerath’, ‘the Nazerene’, and ‘Immaneuel’.

You have clearly not read the gospels for if you had you would have known this and would have known that the term ‘Christ’ refers to the phrase ‘Christ the Lord’ as in:
The Angel said to the Shepards “For unto you is born this day in the City of David, a Savior who is Christ the Lord.”

      • Rswalick says:

not only have i read the gospels, but many other bibles.  do you know that i can name 20 other messiah’s, son god folks who were walked on water, raised the dead and was killed like jesus,  long before jesus time, it is a pretty popluar theme in the history of the planet.  if i am interested in a subject, i read more than one book on it, i read all i can get my hands on to get a broader perspective, you sir have clearly read only the gospels.

  14. Maninpain says:

So what.  If there is such a book does exist .  It was written 500+ years after Barnabas died. After that may years of a story passed down by oral tradition don’t we call it a fable?  Back to the point, why does it matter at all, let alone destroy any thing.  Christians should ignore it, and Islam can not have their creditability go any lower.

  15. Jerry Morgan says:

Sounds like Iran should read my report of how Islam came to be. Like I always say, do yourself a favor, run your own internet search and learn the truth for yourself. “How Islam came to be” I did and that is the title of my report.
