Texas Gets 25k Required Signatures for Official Response from WH About Secession

Well, Texas, you have done it.

As of 8:40 a.m. ET, more than 62,000 people have already signed the petition on The White House website to let Texas peacefully secede from United States of America and “create its own NEW government.”

The petition, created on Nov. 9, argues for secession.

According to The White House, the petition must reach 25,000 signatures within 30 days in order to be considered.

“If a petition gets enough support, White House staff will review it, ensure it’s sent to the appropriate policy experts, and issue an official response,” explains the website.

    • ArkMan says:

Us-is in Arkansas have about 50% of our signatures. Hopefully we can join with y’all in Texas and possible Louisiana.

    • saltporkdoc says:

I’m with ya..sadly all that ammo will probably be needed. Kinda explains all that ammo the Social Security Administration and Nat Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency just bought doesn’t it?

    • Buck says:

I already live in one of those other southern states & my guns & ammo are always locked & loaded. I await the man with the guts to come & take my guns, God & rights. he(they will not walk away unscathed)

      • themtnman says:

well they probably can take mine but only the same way we swore back in WW2 and Korea the OTHER ENEMY of FREEDOM could take and that’s after I make it COMPLETELY empty at their expense first.

        • Buck says:

I agree with you 100 percent on that . I knew this was coming 4 years ago & have been collecting ammo since then.If I don’t melt the barrel down then they are in trouble. I am an avid hunter & have always believed in stocking up on hunting ammo as well as plinking ammo! If push comes to shove then I have a few more tricks up my sleeve I can’t mention on here. Stay safe & GOD Bless themtnman

    • …..and don’t forget your Bible! If you’re serious about having the freedom to protect and defend your GOD given rights to live free of tyrany, we welcome you and your families to join us and discover the true meaning of TEXAS!!!!!

  6. 3Catlady says:

Hope the other 19-22 states join the movement but I hope that the current administration doesn’t put anyone whos name appears on the petition don’t join the already established “kill list” O has.

    • Bruce Jacobs says:

All but three states have submitted to join the movement.

    • themtnman says:

Well according to the law on this they MUST reply to each and every person who signs the movement so they will have one hell of a list.

I haven’t been able to find out for sure if you MUST be a resident of the state to sign the list, if not email me the information and paperwork as I fully intend to MOVE to TEXAS to be nearer to my Daughter and family.

  7. saltporkdoc says:

…and the response, no matter how low it is prioritized, will be…”NO”

  8. bob s says:

How do we get a petition from our state…MO….. I would love to see this happen…. let the welfare rats move to N Y and CAL

    • Ed Scott says:

Start a drive, get at least 25,000 signatures on it. That is the number that is required for some low lever administration flunkey to review it. Anyone can do it. It does not have to be a Politician. And then expect the answer to be “NO!”

    • Be12345 says:

They can have all the illegal aliens too that are sucking off the system.

  9. kfdavis says:

Unfortunately obama will deny all of the petitions.

  10. Oldtymepatriot says:

The White House has nothing to do with “granting” secessions, it is up to the individual state legislatures to pass legislation disolving their membership in the union. Petition your state officials.

    • Patriot says:

One step at a time. Steady as she goes!

      • Oldtymepatriot says:

I would say the “white house” petition drive is serving a purpose to awaken folks to the option even if it is not aimed in the right direction.

    • LikedTheOldUSABetter says:

And how do those of us who have military, government pensions and social security continue to receive those benefits that we have earned? Can state officials and our Congressmen guarantee these continuing payments? How do we insure this? I know I’m not alone in this concern.

      • Oldtymepatriot says:

I would say we can kiss those benefits goodbye as far as coming from Washington. Whether some replacement would come from the new national governing body is an unknown. Keep in mind, several of those who signed the Declaration of Independence lost everything they had, including family and / or their own lives. A government check is insignificant compared to what those patriots lost.

      • Moose says:

Are you sure you’ll still get them in five years from Washington?

      • Tim Curtiss says:

Are these worth more than your freedom?

        • Ed Scott says:

So, you are saying I can have my “freedom” but starve to death? Not a good option. I am too old too work, and I don’t think you are going to be willing to support me in my old age. I would think you Secessionists have not thought this through.

        • Buns says:

Im so sick of you freeloaders. We need to abolish handouts for you government welfare leaches trying to take advantage of liberal welfare programs like social security and medicare.

        • themtnman says:

Hey buns yes there is WAY to much true WELFARE but go back to my answer to ED Scott and read it, SS alone is not welfare at all, Most of have paid in to the system for from 40 to the 73 years that I have paid into it, Now there are a hell of a LOT other things that are now tied to SS that were never supposed to be including the WELFARE paid to ILLEGALS out of the system.

Then you can check and you will find that as of NOW SS has the funds to pay SS benefits for over 30 years and that would be almost doubled if the federal government would pay back the funds that they borrowed (STOLE) out of the fund that 30 years would be over 80 years.

        • LTB says:

Oh we have thought it through and those of you who failed to understand that SS was NEVER INTENDED to be your only retirement income but to be a SMALL supplement. Go read the original intent and then rethink your comments and life ahead. If you voted for the Obama administration to keep your supplement, then you must petition the remaining Obama states government to return your contributions or continue to send the certified check to your abode.

        • themtnman says:

Many of us have and are more than willing to live with out it,

I am 85 years of age and still earn a living and have been paying into SS now since 1939 when it first started and if I were to quite now there is no way that I could draw any where as much as I have paid in much less the interest on my investment on it in 73 years so I really don’t see where anyone could call what most of us that draw SS drawing WELFARE.

Most of us are only getting back what we have paid in over the years.
The MAIN ones that are drawing welfare out of SS are the illegals and that type that are on it. Just look at what you are paying into SS on your pay check and multiply it by somewhere near 50 years and see what you invest over that period then try to figure the compound interest over that period to figure out what your investment would be worth before you start bitching about SS.

      • Ed Scott says:

        That too is my concern.

      • Buns says:

No socialists allowed!! You stay with Obama if you want your free handouts. You people make me sick.

      • themtnman says:

I really don’t know what would happen if we did that but I do know that I have a brother in Canada that gets his SS and Navy retirement sent there.

He told me once that the SS act said it would be but don’t know about any other Government retirement but most and I think all company retirements are required to.

But remember who is now in office, I wouldn’t bet a dime that any of these will be in there in a year anyway and I am 85 and would have to get by on what I could earn at that age plus what I have in my IRA that I would have to draw out but feel it would be worth it to get a little more of the freedom we fought for as far back as I was in the NAVY in WW2 and Korea.

    • You’re right, Oldtymepatriot, and I don’t think my officials need any petitioning (lol).

  11. Phil Wolbert says:

How many of you have a “one nation, under God” shirt, bumper sticker, flag or whatever? Just curious.

    • Oldtymepatriot says:

“Under God” has become a questionmark because of the assault on (Christian) religion by all three branches of the federal government in recent years. Add to that the loss of faith and morals by a growing number of the population and you can see where John Adams statement: “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” And then there is this from Ben Franklin: “Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”

    • Tim Curtiss says:

As if this nation is “under God” anymore.

    • themtnman says:

one “T” shirt 1 VEST 3 BUMPER STICKERS several anti obuma “T” shirts NOBUMA stickers on all but the front window of 3 vehicles

  12. TheSull says:

I’m a Texan by choice, I’ve been here for more than three decades. Obama won’t be able to tell us where we can drill. We will have to beef up security to keep out the blue state ingrates, because our economy will go through the roof.

  13. relayman says:

As a Texan, I was proud to sign the petition. I would have liked to have seen as a basis for the petition on secession and further petitions reference to Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution:
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; ….”
This is solid ground for secession.

  14. dan creech says:

Texas has the option to leave or become seven states.

  15. Ed Scott says:

This secession thing is nothing new and usually goes away after a few weeks. After each Presedential election, the secession petitions circulate each time, Sometimes, from a blue state when a Republican win the White House. The Governments response is usually to answer no, and that is pretty much the end of it every four years.
