Last Year Alone, Taxpayers Spent $1.4 billion on Obama Family Perks

Taxpayers spent $1.4 billion dollars on everything from staffing, housing, flying and entertaining President Obama and his family last year, according to the author of a new book on taxpayer-funded presidential perks.

In comparison, British taxpayers spent just $57.8 million on the royal family.

Author Robert Keith Gray writes in “Presidential Perks Gone Royal” that Obama isn’t the only president to have taken advantage of the expensive trappings of his office. But the amount of money spent on the first family, he argues, has risen tremendously under the Obama administration and needs to be reined in.

Gray told The Daily Caller that the $1.4 billion spent on the Obama family last year is the “total cost of the presidency,” factoring the cost of the “biggest staff in history at the highest wages ever,” a 50 percent increase in the numbers of appointed czars and an Air Force One “running with the frequency of a scheduled air line.”

It ain’t just Obama folks. He merely is taking everything to an unprecedented level which is what Bush did before him. And don’t even get me started on congress :)

Bush 4 trillion in eight years and he did not bow to kings or sympathize with terrorist who killed American’s like obama.

obama over 6 trillion in less than for years and he is anti God anti America, anti Military, anti Christian, and our Constitution plus he sympathizes with the terrorist that killed Americans. Then the piece of human waste has the gull to call those killed just bumps in the road.

Take up for him and you are trash too and un American as they come.

I will vote Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan
obama just means four more years of lying

I’m no longer a Bush fan, but you are correct, he spent money like a drunken democrat but was not near as bad as the Obama’s. G.W. Bush gave us the Obama’s.

Do you know that the Bush Family and the Bin Laden family used to vacation together? I don’t stick up for Obama but it is people who refuse to open their eyes and keep on voting for more statism who are the un-American ones in my book.

You are right Bush spent money like a drunken democrat. He spent over 4 trillion dollars on an unnecessary war and another trillion bailing out his banker cronies with AIPAC. You can thank G. W. Bush, he gave us Obama.

At this point, I am truly worried about our country.

  4. gmarshall says:

Just think of all the money taxpayers will save when we vote that spendthrift out of office in November.

  5. Phillip_in_TX says:

Actually, we paid $840,000,000.00 (60%) and borrowed $560,000,000.00 (40%). So, if you add in the “interest” for the 40%, it is going to cost a lot more.

  6. A king would have been cheaper…go figure.

  7. Tony Bulver says:

The lead-in statement, “Last year alone, taxpayers spent 1.4 billion on Obama family perks”, is a bit misleading. To be grammatically correct, it should have been, “Last year alone, President Obama spent 1.4 billion taxpayer dollars for the Obama family perks”.
Taxpayers didn’t “willingly” spend that money; Obama did.

Knowing the first communist family is living it up while the rest of us have to suck it up should make someone mad. The first primate queen Obama woman who hates this country and our flag is an insult to every honorable American. Go ahead fools, and reelect this fake for president, and when the economy goes to hell and you have no job, food or weapons, I will be ready and so will others who have seen the winds of Hell bearing upon us.

  9. WgTaylor says:

Darn fat cat bankers, too big to fail folks and rich that won’t pay their share, cost the Obama’s paid full time vacation. We need to vote him out Nov 6th or impeach him if he wins. Our country is too great to be brought down by this anti-US impostor.

  10. georgie says:

If I’d spent that much, I’d do everything I could to keep it a secret, but the Obamas don’t feel bad at all about taking a massive entourage on vacation with them, flying their dog, etc. They are spendaholics from the word GO.

  11. $1.4 Billion was all for them….there is no redistribution with that family…wondering how much of that loot was to pay for Michelle very expensive outfits and jewelry…Typical wanna-be despot for life…what is he planning for the next 4 years? OMG…Obama Must Go…

  12. louise says:

All we can do is pray and pray hard that Obama loses in November. He has many things on his side right now, voter fraud being just one of them, but prayer is stronger and we must keep on–

  13. Victor Magilke says:

Barack and Michelle Obama live in opulence like they are Royalty when half of America is now living below the poverty line. They are two greedy guttersnipes that spend more on luxuries, vacations and lavish meals than billionaires do, when 47% of Americans are on food stamps. This is an example of Barack Obama’s speeches in 2008 about changing Washington. He didn’t lie. He did change Washington, he and Michelle spend more money on themselves than another President has in our history. Michell Obama has gained at least 50 pounds since living on taxpayer dollars.
In keeping with his Muslim tradition, I wish he would require Michelle to wear her Burqa when in public and maybe she won’t eat so much to help with our national debt.
