Florida to Sue Feds Over 'Voter Purge' Battle

Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) said he will sue the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to move forward with his controversial attempt to purge the voter rolls in his state of ineligible voters.

“I have a job to do to defend the right of legitimate voters,” Scott told Fox News on Monday. “We’ve been asking for the Department of Homeland Security’s database, SAVE, for months, and they haven’t given it to us. So this afternoon, we will be filing a lawsuit, the secretary of State of Florida, against the Department of Homeland Security to give us that database. We want to have fair, honest elections in our state and we have been put in a position that we have to sue the federal government to get this information.”

Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner produced the lawsuit, filed in Washington, D.C. district court on Monday, shortly after, along with a statement.

This ought to be settled long after the election.  And the scumbags Holder and Zero know it.

  2. ElizabethMC says:

There’s a joke  ‘ my dad used to vote republican all his life until he died – now he votes democrat’.

  3. Aimee says:

    Bravo for Florida!
I was in the mortgage business and we were able to verify a valid social security number within 3 minutes, someone please explain to me why states cannot verify social security number and if they are a valid registared voter!

  4. Kategray_ghost says:

They have more than four and half months til election. Somewhere I read that only 90 days before presidential elections  they cannot purge the rolls. WHAT GIVES HOLDER AND NAPALITANO WHAT GIVES you need voter fraud to win.

Now, if only my home State, Washington, would do the same thing. But alas, my State is controlled by liberal Democrats, in only four western Washington counties.  I wish we could split the State, make those four counties, their own State, and the rest of Washington a new State. California Liberals, came here in droves. Starting in 1969. They have changed, for the worse, my State. I use to be a Democrat. My entire family was Democrat after WW2. Not now. I have been indepenent since 1996. The Democras have been taken over by the Socialist Party. Also the Rhino’s in te Republican Party. The House speaker now, is little better than Peloski. Just a different Party and style. Our country is in real trouble of continueing to exist.

  6. Cathy says:

We MUST get rid of every single one of these dangerous Democrats

  7. Remington 870 says:

Go get em Fla. All Red states should tell Holder to pound sand. Holder does not earn any respect from decent Americans. He is a two bit thug, communist, and white hater. For any Red state to buckle under Holder’s intimidation and threats is a sign of weakness and Red states must never allow this to happen.

  8. Airangel says:

Eric Holder and Janet Napalitano should be ousted already! They are not protecting American citizens and legitimacy at the voting booths. They are hijacking the data so the progressive liberal new democrat party can cheat on elections. They are desperate because they know the “smart” public is onto their lies and deception and sell out of America! All of us need to show support for this lawsuit in Florida based on principle – right vs. wrong, legal vs. illegal, honor and valor vs, classless and criminal! Go Florida! We also need to protest DC to oust Holder and Napalitano on NOT defendng AMERICAN citizens’s rights and our Sovereignty as per their job description! YOUR FIRED!

  9. jong says:

Of course what should happen is that Florida should continue with what they were doing.  Make Holder do the work and bring in “cause” that the state of Florida should comply with his demand.   This of course can delayed for a long time and by then all the dead weight will out of the voters registration

  10. colleenf says:

Holder is just doing what he is known to do>>>>>>supporting his boss, odumbo, in his reelection bid. Make sure to let the illegals, dead and out of state people vote in Florida!
I hope holder gets his arse handed to him in a sling!

  11. SheinLV says:

Good for Florida, its about time the states started standing up to this corrupt government.  I wish my state would get some b@lls.  The federal government is about as corrupt as they come.

  12. Hugh Dame says:

    Holder & co. Are leading states to finally tell DC to go s u c k eggs. Enough of the arrogance of these supercilious b a $ t a r d $ .

  13. Remington 870 says:

Holder is a two bit outlaw. He is no better than a drug lord. Showing this outlaw any respect is a no go. However, Coward Boehner will do all he can to slow down all investigations into Holder’s criminal behavior. Speaker Boehner has sold his soul to Obama and urinated on the American people.

  14. Guest says:

    GO, FLORIDA!!  You tell ‘em!

  15. The Carpathian says:

Don’t purge non-citizens and the dead from voter rolls:  that’s RACIST!  Register people to vote who cannot prove citizenship in any way: that’s compassion.  Allow convicts to vote from their prison cells: that’s moral guidance from the electorate.

And if you dare try to eliminate the dead, non citizen and convicted felons from voter rolls, Holder and Napolitano will stone-wall you until you’ve passed a deadline — then sue your @$$ for trying to do it too late in the “Democratic” process.  Yes, it sure is how the Democrats process things.

If I were governor of Florida, I would purge every name that was questioned, and force Holder & Co. to demand in open court that Felons and non-citizens MUST be allowed to vote to preserve the integrity of our electoral process in order to balance out the will of the people!

    ’nuff said
